We started seeing Dr. Sawyer when another dentist in town (that tricare referred us to) recommend that we totally cap our special needs child's teeth. One our first visit! She was two! We immediately sought out a second opinion with Dr. Sawyer and he assured us there was absolutely no need for such drastic actions, and would continue to closely monitor our daughter's teeth. Dr. Sawyer and his staff have always taken every measure possible to make my daughter's dentist appointments as trauma free as possible. It's not always a fun visit, but they work professionally, quickly, and compassionately as possible. And my daughter gets put into the papoose wrap ... it's for her safety. (Last cleaning visit we didn't have to use the wrap or the clamps!) I appreciate the measures they take. It's hard as a parent to watch, your child cry and be upset, but they are doing what needs to be done.
My 2 yr old daughter was crying. The staff quickly calmed her down, distracted her with a new toothbrush, and quickly moved on to the exam. It was fast and thorough. Great bedside manner, kid friendly environment, and easy to schedule same or next day appointments. Best experience with a pediatric dentist.
Worst place you could ever take your child. Dr. Sawyer is a complete joke and I honestly have never been treated so bad. His staff administered the sedation to my daughter and stated that it would take 15 minutes to take affect. They stated that after the 15 minutes they would come in to get my child. 45 minuets later they came in to take her back to do the dental work. He could only make it halfway through the work before the sedation started to wear off. I paid in full and he stated he would give me credit and cut the rates due to this error on their part. We called today to schedule an appointment and they stated that they recommend us to go to another practice. I sure wish we would not have paid this up front. I am never one to give bad reviews but please do not waste any time with this so called practice.
Great dentist! My son loves going. They have cool sunglasses for him to wear during the exam, and "prizes" to choose from after the appointment. They thoroughly explain things and I feel confident with the services they provide.
Amazing experience!! After the nightmare experience we had at another San Angelo dentist my child was scared of our appointment but, Dr. Sawyer and staff were GREAT!! Thank you so much!
