In his denial he even said the roof does not leak...well it does leak. It has leaked during the current rain and the previous rain, and I'm sure it will leak from now on. I know Mr. Slater feels like he got away with cheating this customer, but hopefully others will use a more reputable company.
My advice? Make them put everything in writing. They told me "1 guy, 1 hourly rate". The total? $150 to replace a toilet handle and pull a piece of glass out of the garbage disposal while the "helper" played with his hair in the bathroom mirror. The job took a total of 20 minutes + a $30 part, and they did not leave an itemized invoice to break down the charges. When I asked the office manager to mail one to me, she blew it off because she was out sick that day and didn't want to admit that I had been overcharged.
He never even had the courtesy to come meet and personally view the poor quality work performed on my roof.
My family of 7 will be spending the weekend without water because these people dont stand behind their work. Money is the ONLY thing that went down the drain.
When I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau for the inferior foam roofing job that Mr. Slater and his company Lone Star Contracting did, all Mr. Slater could do in his response was to bad mouth me, the customer and lied about every one of the issues I had reported to the BBB!
The plumber I'd used for many years retired and I was hesitant in calling another plumber. I called Lone Star out to install a bathroom faucet on a new granite bathroom vanity. First of all the receptionist at Lone Star was the friendliest and most helpful I've ever dealt with. A plumber named Marcus came out and not only removed the old sink but blew out and cleaned the sink trap, he took extra steps in installing the sink and we are thrilled with the job, no problems. Before contacting Lone Star I contacted a well known plumbing company between San Angelo and Grape Creek to install a kitchen faucet, although the job was well done the plumber instructed the "helper trainee" to do the installation thereby taking over TWO HOURS at a cost of over $200.00. If the plumber had done the job instead of the trainee it could have been done in an hour. I called the company about the "trainee" doing the job and the receptionist and owner were so hateful I found it hard to believe they dealt with the public. When I have another plumbing problem I will feel confident in calling Lone Star and I will ask for Marcus!
They sprayed insulation in our house a few years back. The foam has made all the difference on our heating and cooling bills.
They are BAD about returning phone calls. You have to call them over-and-over to get a return phone call.
