Ton's of really beautiful collector type trinkets that were expensive and the kind of thing your kids will probably not appreciate.
I was most impressed with the facility itself. Absolutely beautiful and having retained its old charm had a very "original" feel to it. I would go back but only when I had the budget to pick out some treasures to bring home.
Visited briefly today and was amazed at how beautiful and meticulously kept the store is. Im glad I didn't read the reviews before I went in. It is obviously a very expensive, high end store that caters to a certain crowd. I am traveling and in my comfy clothes. I assure you I looked out of place in there, however, no one stalked me (and if they did, they've gotten much better at hiding it). I walked all around the store taking in all the beautiful gifts they have. I purchased a piece of delicious fudge, a truffle and a soda. The two older ladies were extremely friendly and did not make me feel any less of a customer than anyone else. There was a sign on the door that said no strollers, no cameras, no big bulky purses, backpacks etc. I suspected from that that there had been alot of thefts and from the signs inside that there had been alot of ill behaved children in there. It is not a store I would ever take children into I don't care how mannered they are. But they do have some very unique and beautiful gifts. If you are looking for something wonderful to give someone special this would be the place to look. An endless assortment of jewelry, kitchen wares, books, cards, trinkets, cups, Texas themed items, baby gifts, lotions, candles and more. Worth the browse.
WORST VISIT EVER. Did not even make it past the front door when we were told we could not have our diaper bag in the store. Then we were told our stroller was too big. I am 280 lbs and I am wider then the stroller ... Guess I am too big for your store as well. I am from Idaho and was told to come here as a tourists stop. But I will not be recommending this place at all. My sister is here due to military obligations and has been in your store (with the same stroller we used today) and never once asked to have an employee "watch" her stuff. The stroller we were offered to use would not have kept my nephew contained. Also your company does not even clean them, I am sorry but I am not going to put my nephew into "the small stroller" when my sister has been into your store 5 plus times using HER stroller. Would you rather My nephew walk around breaking stuff or contained into a 15inch wide stroller? My hips are wider then 15inches but we were told our stroller would not fit in your store .... Yet, ironically it has fit the other five times she has come in there. This is the only place in town I could have bought my family gifts. Turns out you just lost a customer as well as I will be letting everyone know about my experience.
A great Variety Store. Probably the most well-stocked "General Store" in this area and probably in the whole state of Texas. A real fun place to shop and a good place to look for those items that you can't find anywhere else...
Old fashioned like general store. Great place to take visitors. Lots of gift items.
The customer service was welcoming and I had a lovely chat with one of the associates about the Ukrainian (I believe?) serving ware, she was very well informed about the very detailed designs and the artists behind them.
