1. The room had not been cleaned when we walked in the door. Bed not made up, bathroom not cleaned. Once we called, it was taken care of.
This hotel has great rates and is in a nice location, along the Rio Concho and near the historic part of San Angelo. I did experience a few frustrations during my stay, however...magnetic card that was turned off one day before my departure, uncomfortable bed mattress, one day when housekeeping didn't clean my room, a few threadbare towels. The manager was very helpful though, when I brought these to her attention.
First off, I only stayed one night so I can't confirm other reports of housekeeping staff. Only reason I stayed here was because the comfort suites was completely booked on a Thursday night. I would not recommend this hotel unless there's no choice.
Quick check in/out. Nice bedding. However I'm not a fan of bedspreads. Breakfast fresh & tasty. Clean big bldg. Close to downtown for restaurants & bars . Parks too. Lovely!
Walking in to the lobby, it looked nice and updated and I was helped fairly quick as their was a guest in front of me. The first room I had was called the "Angelo Suite" which is labeled as RM 149. Problem is, their is NO signage to tell you where it is as the current signs don't go up that high. The staff never told me so I had to go back and ask. There's also 2 doors to the room to make it slightly confusing. Living room had a big 46" or so TV and the bedroom had a small 20ish TV. Both had came boxes but only one had an HDMI to connect to the TV. The other had no cable at all. I asked and never received a second cable. The room felt dated. Nothing I could pinpoint (maybe furniture if I had to choose) but it just didn't feel quite up to par. That room also has an old barely working sleep number bed. Everything was fine until I got a little chilly. Turned on one of 2 heaters and within 10 seconds the smoke alarm was blaring and had an absolutely horrible smell. The windows don't open so no fresh air. Tried using both units on fan only which did nothing. Tried tournament on AC on high for 30 min and barely a difference. I got another smaller room and when I came back to get my stuff, the smell was worse. Second junior suite was fine except for a bench that was all torn up. Room was freezing when I got in and I didn't dare turn the heater on. Lastly, the staff in the morning want rude but they weren't friendly and barely spoke. I hope you found my review and pictures helpful.
5. The AC was GREAT
2. We had a SUITE, so in the kitchen there is NOTHING. No dish rag, dish towel, glasses, dish soap......... So, if you stay in a suite with a kitchen, take your own stuff.
6.Great room for a few.....king bed, 2 sofa beds, privacy door to close off if needed
3. It is dated and could use some TLC
4. Sleep number bed did not work. One side was very SOFT and the other very HARD. Would not adjust on either side.
I MIGHT stay there again if I returned to that area.
Just a few things that were good and not so good.
7. Great location to great shopping.......walking distance
It was ok. Beds were clean. The bathroom was clean. Staff was friendly. The room Smelled a little musky. The coffee cups in the room were never cleaned. They were gross. Lip stick prints and milk left in the cups. It Is within walking distance of the convention center so that is nice. Breakfast was disappointing but the pastries and coffee were good.
