My husband and I stayed at this establishment recently for one night. During our visit, we went to walk our dogs at 9:30am the morning of checkout, only to come back to housekeeping cleaning out our room already. All of our things were still in the room, spread out across the bed, and check out wasn't until 12pm. When we asked the housekeeper to come back after we checked out, she told us "oh, it's fine. I can work around you." What? We paid for the room and paid the non-refundable pet deposit for our dogs to stay with us through 12pm. It made us feel very uncomfortable, as if we were delaying the cleaning schedule for wanting to pack up without an audience hovering over us. An unfortunate experience that will keep us from staying here again.
This has to be the grossest hotel I've stayed in. I travel for business and stay in different hotels. From the moment I walked in there was trash on the floor. And damp towels. Dirt on the walls and the coffee machine I wiped down was actually CAKED residue from previous uses. I switched rooms thinking maybe it was just one that was missed... NOPE. Still dirty. I was honestly not looking forward to laying in the bed just wondering if they even wash the sheets. New cleaning crew needed.
Nice easy to get to. Comfy bed and bedding. Nice, thick towels. Great, I said, great breakfast. Staff is friendly. Great desk service/check in. Nice, hot shower with ok shampoo, etc. Ice water in a pitcher at entrance. Free newspapers. Good location. Close to restaurants, shopping. Quiet, well kept. Downfall: stained carpet, stained bed runner. Slow running water in bathroom sink.
When we went up to our room, the cleaning service were still cleaning the room. When we got in, we were in shock. There were stains ALL over the floor & on the pad by the window. I’m not talking one small stain, they were everywhere & big ones. Very nasty. I went down stairs to request another room & they gave it to us. The room was better but still wasn’t the best I’ve ever been in. The breakfast was okay. The service was okay but were rude a couple of times. We survived but won’t stay there again.
It's nice to find a place to stay that is affordable, clean, and comfy with friendly staff! We will definitely stay here again if we ever return to San Angelo!
