Another delicious meal, had the special for two and this time it wasn't just my wife with the to go box. She chose Ichiban for her birthday because it has been awhile. Checked recent reviews and everyone is about the same. Each has good and bad days. Chatted with some nice folks after the cook was finished and had a pleasant and enjoyable evening.
Our waiter was bad. Did not offer refills or come clear our salad and soup bowls. Was to busy standing behind bar talking. Had to ask for my copy of my reciept and a plastic bag to carry out our food. What happened to when they would refill your bowl with ginger sauce without being asked? Now you have to keep asking over and over. I don't mind paying for good food which it was but this place has lost the finer qualities that use to make it a good restaurant.
Always a good choice! Love the (vinaigrette style) house salad dressing. Wish they sold it by the gallon. The ginger sauce here actually has substance not "ginger water" like the other places.
The original Japanese Steak House in San Angelo. It's had it's ups and downs and is still going strong . Good atmosphere friendly staff. I prefer the way they cook there rice and vegetables . The competition is about the same as far as prices and taste go ,but it comes down to the staff and the ambiance.
Well took my wife and two-year-old son to eat here today. The place has turned into a dive bar of sorts. The food was decent however, it seems this restaurant has turned into more of a hangout for the staff. We were seated at a table it was just the three of us at first, then a couple came in and they stated them across from us at the table. Then then several staff in uniform and one staff who came from the back of the restaurant not in uniform sat down at the table. At which point the couple along with multiple members started ordering rounds of margaritas and then start drinking doing shots. The couple did not order food just an appetizer, one of the staff members had a meal he brought from the back with him. The staff members seem to be having a great time drinking and cursing with the couple seated at the table with us. Which is fine for a bar however I thought I was taking my family to a decent restaurant to have a meal. Turns out it was more of a dive bar where the staff hang out and getting drunk with their friends and apparently curse in front of customers children, toddlers at that who tend to repeat things. We will definitely never return, and in all seriousness I hope this place shuts down for lack of business
